After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1. Discuss and recognize best practice, policies, standards of care and utilize resources for clinical practice at the Birthplace.
2. Demonstrate skills necessary to support initiation of breastfeeding including: educating parents about realistic expectations and to evaluate effective breastfeeding.
3. Demonstrate skills necessary to identify and manage breastfeeding challenges. 
4. Discuss best practice for responding to shoulder dystocia.
5. Describe effective team work, communication and hands on skills required in the care of a pregnant woman during an obstetrical emergency.
