Tier 1 training is intended for mental health front-line staff, clinicians and educators interested in becoming proficient in Collaborative Problem Solving, an evidence-based approach to understanding and helping children and adolescents with a wide range of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

Participants learn to advance their skills in applying the model through a combination of didactic lectures, role-playing, videotape examples, case presentations, and breakout groups with topics of specific interest to clinicians and educators. Participants receive personal attention and individualized feedback during breakout sessions from Think: Kids trainers while also benefiting from opportunities for networking. Continuing education credits are offered at no extra cost. This is a 2.5 day training program and participants must attend all days to be considered for certification. Completion of the training is also a requirement of the professional certification program.

Day Two:     CPS Phases 1 &2:  Assessment & Planning
Day Three:  CPS Phases 2&3:  Planning & Intervention
Day Four:    Problem Solving Practice, Skills Training, System Implementation, Research & Next Steps

In support of improving patient care, Baystate Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
