Peer Support Education - November 18, 2021

November 18, 2021

The Betsy Lehman Center is piloting a program to seed the adoption of clinician and staff peer support programs by Massachusetts health care providers, starting with hospitals. Baystate Health was chosen as one of the hospitals to pilot their program. Peer support programs can contribute to a positive patient safety culture. One in which health care institutions encourage transparency about errors and fair treatment of the staff involved. Hospitals as well as other health care organizations that offer support programs for clinicians and staff not only provide essential aid and support to those in need, but convey the important message that safety is institutional priority.
