Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

  1. Recall current guideline recommendations for treatment of methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) endocarditis
  2. Understand the inoculum effect and what role it can play in persistent MSSA bacteremia
  3. Interpret and apply primary literature about salvage therapy for MSSA bacteremia to clinical practice as appropriate
