Objectives

1. Review the pathophysiology and treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and hyperosmolar hyperglycemic syndrome (HHS)
2. Evaluate literature pertaining to glucose correction and complications associated with DKA/HHS
3. Apply findings to a patient case
