NIV/Teamwork Course: Practical Algorithm for Noninvasive Ventilation use in Patients with COPD-Teamwork as a Recipe for Success

The goal of this presentation is to reduce adverse events and increase patient safety while using noninvasive ventilation through the use of an algorithm designed for patients with a COPD exacerbation and through the use of teamwork.

Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and Physicians

1. Discuss how to initiate properly and use noninvasive ventilation in patients with COPD exacerbation

2. Identify strategies to reduce adverse events and increase patient safety while using noninvasive ventilation
