Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1| Describe the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and mortality associated with ruptured AAA.
2| Describe the factors influencing surgical management of rAAA and apply this understanding to develop an appropriate anesthetic strategy and improve intraoperative communication.
3| Formulate anesthetic plan, including alternative strategies for anticipated intraoperative challenges and hemodynamic instability.
4| Describe the principles of initial resuscitation, anticipate and manage perioperative complications.
