Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1|Describe the clinical presentation and appropriate diagnostic methods for HSV in pregnancy

2|Differentiate between primary, non-primary first episode, and recurrent HSV infections and understand their implications for maternal and fetal outcomes

3|Outline recommended antiviral regimens for treatment and suppression of HSV

4|Develop delivery plans based on maternal HSV status and presence of active lesions or prodromal symptoms at labor onset
