Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1. Discuss care of psychiatric patients on medical units by increasing medical staff  specific psych education

2. Identify environmental hazards for psychiatric patients specifically found on the medical floors

3. Identify the most common psychiatric scenarios and types of patients seen on medical units

4. Discuss communication of specific interventions that can effectively increase rapport, communication, and ultimately, care of psych patients on medical units
