Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1|    Differentiate common pediatric causes of nausea and vomiting, including functional GI disorders, Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome, Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome, and psychogenic vomiting.
2|    Recognize red flags that prompt urgent evaluation or GI referral for nausea and vomiting.
3|    Apply a practical diagnostic approach and initial management for nausea and vomiting not caused by acute gastroenteritis in the primary care setting.
4|    Identify when to initiate targeted workups and when to refer to pediatric gastroenterology and/or Adolescent Medicine for nausea and vomiting
5|    Recognize the role of psychosocial factors and lifestyle interventions in the evaluation and management of patients with nausea and vomiting.
