Presentation: Insights in the Patient Experience with Noninvasive Ventilation- What can we learn?

This presentation will focus on understanding patient perception of noninvasive ventilation (behind the mask) based on interviews with patients and prior literature. It will also outline possible strategies to improve tolerance with noninvasive ventilation.

Dr. Mihaela Stefan and Taylar Clark will present the current knowledge of patient experience with noninvasive ventilation (NIV). They will discuss patient’s journey from the time NIV was started till NIV mask is removed and demonstrate patients’ emotions and perception of NIV by showing quotes from patients’ interviews. Jill McCormick will explain the user-center design methodology that was used in interviews and to build the journey map and how the findings will be incorporated in techniques to improve patient experience.
