Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1. Acknowledge the epidemiology of opiate use disorder in pregnant and parenting people in Western Massachusetts.
2. Recognize the importance of engaging pregnant women into stable MAT during pregnancy including the induction of treatment at the Birthplace.
3. Recognize symptoms of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and possible long-term outcomes..
4. Gain awareness of the MDC-EMPOWER Program and how to refer patients.
