Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to

1.  Review normal lipid metabolism in the liver.
2.  Define lysosomal acid lipase deficiency & describe its clinical presentation.
3.  Compare lysosomal acid lipase deficiency with common misdiagnoses.
4.  Describe current available therapies for lysosomal acid lipase deficiency.
5.  Describe pathophysiology of achalasia.
6.  Interpret how the POEM procedure was developed.
7.  Recognize local results of the POEM procedure.
