Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to

1. Define amblyopia and its various causes. 
2. Describe what automated vision screening instruments seek to detect.
3. Understand the difference between testing the child who can read and eye from those who cannot.
4. Understand how the United States Preventative Services Task Force rating and the AAP guidelines for preschool vision screening impact medical practice.
5.  Understand how changing an instrument's referral criteria impact the referral rate and sensitivity of the test when done in your office.
