Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1.  Discuss the role of the primary care provider in caring for patients with eating disorders
2.  Discuss the DSM5 criteria for restrictive eating disorders
3.  Discuss the medical evaluation of patients with restrictive eating disorders
4.  Describe the first steps in refeeding a patient with restrictive eating in the outpatient setting
5.  Discuss weight gain in the context of hypermetabolism
6.  Describe the definitions of therapeutic vs intuitive eating
7.  Discuss the differences in approach to refeeding patients with ARFID vs Anorexia Nervosa
8.  Describe how to address malnourished patients with an elevated BMI
9.  Discuss the continuum between addressing malnutrition and ultimate goal of weight loss for patients with an elevated BMI
10.Describe how/when to address sports participation in patients with a history of inadequate nutritional intake
