In the fall of 2023 a couple of community gun violence situations killed children and families. The impact of caring for the victims and being faced with the death of small children took a toll on our medical teams across disciplines. In debriefing discussions the events were processed and shared. Questions about the efficacy of debriefing and processing emotions, thoughts and experiences remain - can we ever do enough to support our teams? How do we prepare ourselves for on ongoing reality of violent behavior and death by guns? Schwartz Rounds aims to address these questions and the panelists will present the cases in abbreviated form to the audience while also sharing their coping strategies and how they moved on from the moral distress of the situations.
Objectives

1| Identify impact gun violence in immediate communities on professional wellbeing of all health care workers
2| Assess efficacy of group and individual debriefing sessions for medical/trauma/interdisciplinary teams
