Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1. Discuss challenges in communication that impact patient care in the inpatient setting.
2. Describe the history and evidence surrounding family-centered rounding (FCR) in pediatrics.
3. Analyze the impacts of FCR on patients, families, staff and trainees.
4. Recognize areas of strength regarding FCR at Baystate Children's Hospital and strategies for potential improvement.
