Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1| Review the purpose and components of the NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) as a foundation for understanding stroke assessment.
2| Explain the elements of the FAST-ED scale and its role in prehospital triage of large vessel occlusion strokes and interpret reported FAST-ED scores to support effective communication across care settings.
3| Recognize common stroke mimics that may confound scoring, using clinical examples to differentiate mimics from true ischemic stroke presentations.
