Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1. Recognize the unique aspects of solution-focused therapy and how this differs from a problem-focused perspective.
2. Identify and understand solution-focused skills that assist in engaging with children and families.
3. Learn and practice the skills of identifying and amplifying positive differences (exceptions) uncovering resources and strengths.
4. Identify several types of solution-focused scaling questions.
5. Learn how solution-focused therapy can be applied to trauma and substance use disorders.
