Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1.  Document a neuro assessment and identify unit standards of documentation in the EMR.
2.  Describe neuro anatomy and physiology.
3.  Relate structure to function in a neuro exam.
4.  State the components of a neuro exam .
5.  Distinguish the different types of seizures.
6.  Describe the assessment and treatment of seizure patients.
7.  State potential complications of seizures .
8.  Name neurological disorders including headache, CNS infections, degenerative disorders and neuromuscular and autoimmune disorders. 
9.  Identify treatment and nursing management of neurological disorders.
