Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1. Identify terminology for Vitamin K deficiency bleeding(VKDB)
2. Explain physiologic reasons for low levels of vitamin K during initial newborn period
3. Define early, classical, and late VKDB and explain how they differ
4. Review vitamin K shot verus oral vitamin K
5. Review evidence verus myths regarding vitamin K shot for the newborn
