Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

  1. Discuss ABC’s of BLS – describe and demonstrate basic airway, breathing, circulation, CPR principles
  2. Review basic components of an ACLS Code Cart, including the defibrillator and BLS/ACLS card
  3. Discuss effective teamwork principles of leadership, role clarity & task delegation, communication, mutual support, situational awareness and shared-decision making
  4. Apply BLS and teamwork skills discussed above in an interprofessional team setting in simulation
  5. Debrief on the impact of team-based interactions during crisis situations and review lessons learned
