Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1. Describe the roles of the members of the health care team in their respective responsibilities for quality care.
2. Discuss the theory behind occurrence of neuropathic pain.
3.. Discuss the medical therapies available for management of neuropathic pain.
4. Discuss the non-medical therapies available for management of neuropathic pain.
5. Discuss the characteristics of chronic pain following spinal cord injury.
6. Discuss the treatment options currently available for chronic pain after spinal cord injury.
7. Describe pathology of multiple sclerosis.
8. Describe the effects of a pituitary edeoma.
9. Discuss steroid induced psychosis.
10. Discuss things to consider when prescribing opioid medications to a patient with history of mental health issues.
11. Define failed back syndrome.
