Participants will receive expert training in delivery of cognitive behavioral treatment (CBT) for people suffering from depression and living with chronic illnesses. Special focus will be on management of behavioral concerns for patient with diabetes. The program incorporates a unique module teaching patients skills for adherence to medical regimens, including strategies for remembering to take medications, getting to medical appointments on time, and communicating effectively with medical providers. Based on the principles of CBT, this program provides therapists with education on improving patient adherence to medical therapy, managing depression, and avoiding relapse into behaviors that worsen medical condition.

In support of improving patient care, Baystate Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
