Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

  1. Discuss responsibilities, behaviors, and qualities of an effective charge nurse.
  2. Identify the role of the charge nurse in urgent, unexpected or challenging situations.
  3. Discuss conflict resolution skills and effective communication.  
  4. Describe operation resources and tools available to the charge nurse to practice in the role
