Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1. Discuss departmental accomplishments and programmatic innovations over the past year.

2.  Review the origins of the profession of psychiatry in US during colonial times in the context of racist ideology.

3.  Understand the influence of racism and white supremacist ideology on psychiatric practice during the 19th and 20th century

4.  Identify impact of historical racism on contemporary psychiatric practice
