Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1. Describe the roles of the members of the health care team in their respective responsibilities for quality care.
2. Define anaphylaxis.
3. Explain pathophysiology of anaphylaxis.
4. Distinguish different patterns of clinical presentation and apply the ring and messmer severity grading scale.
5. Describe common causes of perioperative anaphylaxis.
6. Discuss management of anaphylaxis.
