Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
- Distinguish the differences between new patient, established patient and consultation
- Understand that Office/Outpatient visits may be based on either medical decision making or time
- Recognize which activities count toward total daily time when basing your E/M level on time
- Analyze the three components of medical decision making and assign the appropriate level of complexity
- Choose the correct level of service for new and established patients based on documentation
