The Department of Surgery supports the continuing education of all faculty: physicians, residents, staff and invited guests. Emergency General Surgical (EGS) Morbidity & Mortality is held the first Friday of every month from 8:00 - 9:00 am. The purpose is to present and discuss clinical care as it relates to the patients on the Emergency General surgery service with updates on new research and technology, and addresses any other issues related to the care of the EGS patient. EGS M&M is an essential component of surgical and medical education overall enhancing clinical and critical thinking skills with a common goal of achieving quality patient care.
In support of improving patient care, Baystate Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
