Objectives

1. Discuss the rational for the development of the new AAP febrile infant guidelines.
2. Describe the 2021 AAP febrile infant guidelines.
3. Compare the major changes in practice recommended by the new guidelines to the prior guidelines.
4. Discuss the practical implications of the new guidelines on the care of febrile infants.
