Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1. Identify children at risk for developing severe hyperbilirubinemia 
2. Recognize potentially irreversible consequences of Bilirubin-Induced Neurologic Dysfunction
3. Explore potential role of Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) for the interim management of severe hyperbilirubinemia that may need exchange transfusion 
4. Understand who is at risk for alloimmunization
5. Learn how to monitor a pregnancy that is allo-immunized 
6. Discuss fetal consequences of alloimmunization 
7. Understand when to intervene for fetal well-being
