Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1. Describe the epidemiology, etiology, and pathophysiology of urinary tract infections
2. Determine which antimicrobials are viable options for treatment of bacteria with defined resistance
3. Assess if an antimicrobial has pharmacokinetic properties that allow for use in specific disease states
4. Design an ideal antimicrobial regimen for a patient based on definitive culture results using patient-specific factors
