Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1|Identify and evaluate the severity of illness in patients upon admission and during hospitalization, using relevant clinical indicators, tools, and protocols.
2|Predict how the progression of a patient's clinical condition might impact clinical decisions and the next steps in their care, incorporating prognostic scoring systems and clinical judgment.
3|Accurately assess when a patient's condition warrants critical care level, utilizing objective criteria and guidelines.
4|Define and locate resources available to support both patients and healthcare teams during periods of clinical instability, including specialized staff, equipment, and supportive services.
5|Describe the importance of effective communication among the healthcare team, particularly when dealing with severe illnesses and critical care situations.
