Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1. Describe the pathophysiology and nursing interventions for an acute coronary syndrome.
2. Define the standards of practice in relation to the care of the patient undergoing cardiac and vascular surgeries.
3. Discuss the standard preop preparation for the H&V OR patient.   
4. Summarize the nursing care of percutaneous valve repair and replacement.
5. Describe the treatment and nursing interventions of the patient with advanced heart failure. 
6. Describe the pathophysiology, procedure, and nursing care involved in an LAAO.
