After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1|Discuss what LVAD stands for and the indications and contraindications. 
2|Describe how to technically care for an LVAD by switching power sources, performing a daily self-test and toggling through settings, and evaluating current status, including performing a MAP.  
3|Review with staff possible complications of LVAD and what steps to follow.
