The goal of this educational activity is to: learn and perform the M Technique on hands and feet. It will provide a holistically centered method to assist direct care staff and patients with their stress and anxiety. The M Technique will positively impact the staff: (offering time to reset, relaxation, calmness). It will positively impact the patients: (allow a few moments of undivided attention, make connections, decrease fear/stress/anxiety, alter pain perception). It can be performed on both adult and pediatric patients. It can be used in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Staff can also perform it on one another to decrease stress, aid in relaxation at break time etc. It will promote nursing excellence and holistic care across all disciplines.
