Education and discussion of care strategies for psychiatric patients on medical surgical units will be presented by members of the BMC Behavioral Resource Team. Topics will include identifying environmental hazards for psychiatric patients, common scenarios and types of psychiatric patients encountered on medical surgical units, and discussion of specific interventions that can effectively increase rapport, communication and the standard of care of psychiatric patients on medical units.
