Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1|Describe how Damage Control Resuscitation (DCR) is not one technique, but rather a group of strategies which addresses the lethal triad of Metabolic Acidosis, Coagulopathy and Hypothermia. 
2|Describe how DCR aims to prevent coagulopathy in trauma / massive hemorrhage scenarios.
3|Review the pillars of DCR and how they pertain to roles in anesthesia.
4|Describe the conclusions from the Pragmatic, Randomized Optimal Platelet and Plasma Ratios (PROPPR) trial.
5|Describe the conclusions from the Clinical Randomization of an Antifibrinolytic in Significant Hemorrhage 2 (CRASH-2) Trial.
6|Describe the importance of incorporating evolving DCR methodology into patient management at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
