Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1| Identify key clinical presentations of commonly missed and misdiagnosed upper extremity pathologies: Participants will be able to recognize the subtle and atypical signs and symptoms associated with frequently missed and misdiagnosed conditions such as compartment syndrome, flexor tenosynovitis, and Dupuytren's disease.

2| Apply diagnostic strategies to differentiate between similar upper extremity pathologies: Attendees will learn specific diagnostic tests and criteria to distinguish between conditions that often present with overlapping symptoms, such as Dupuytren's disease versus ganglion cysts or thumb CMC arthritis versus De Quervain's tendonitis.

3| Discuss appropriate management approaches for frequently missed and misdiagnosed upper extremity conditions: By the end of the lecture, participants will be able to outline evidence-based treatment options and referral pathways for conditions commonly overlooked or improperly diagnosed in clinical practice, ensuring timely and accurate management for better patient outcomes.
