Description: 

Description: the Schwartz Rounds panelists will discuss their own personal and professional strategies that have supported them through changes and transitions in their professional, organizational,  and personal lives. The focus will be on describing methods to practice self-compassion, strengthen resilience in interpersonal and professional relationships,  reflective of inner attitudes that foster self-care, self-compassion,  and compassionate care to others, while also identifying barriers to self-care activities and attitudes prevalent in healthcare professions. The facilitator will invite the audience to engage the panelists with questions, and sharing of their experiences. The overall purpose is to create a collegial environment in which members of inter-professional teams can share, and gain new insights from one another. 

 
Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
 

1| To describe the impact of professional and organizational change on professional functioning
2| To identify two self-compassion strategies to cope with change and strengthen resilience
3| To discuss the importance of strengthening resilience
4| To describe compassionate behaviors that support compassionate patient care.
5| To discuss compassionate behaviors that support individuals and teams  to foster resilience
