Description: 

"This session will introduce Open Notes, the ability of care recipients to access their medical records in real time, and provide an opportunity to reflect with a multidisciplinary panel on how it might change our provision of competent, compassionate care throughout Baystate Health."

 
Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1|  Describe what Open Notes is, why it is necessary, and how it is understood to benefit patient care;

2| Articulate how providers  might adjust their conversations and documentation in light of Open Notes;

3| Describe some of the particularly challenging issues including "bad news", Maternal, Adolescent and Pediatric notes; and

4| Share ways that Baystate Health can enhance compassionate care for all patients and families with judicious use of Open Notes."
