The Emergency Response in the Hospital Setting series provides novice nurses with limited emergency response experience the education needed to apply best practice for responding to rapidly decompensating patients. Provides education about the signs and symptoms of decompensation as well as interventions prior to emergency response. Class will demonstrate proper process for Code Blue/ RRT activation, CPR, utilizing AED and preparing equipment for emergent intubation.

In support of improving patient care, Baystate Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

This educational activity is designed for RN and LPNs on acute care units; respiratory therapist for acute care units.
