Series Overview
The Baystate Franklin Medical Center (BFMC) Medical Staff supports the continuing education of its members, family medicine residents, BFMC nurses, BFMC social workers and all other BFMC staff with periodic Grand Rounds presentations. The BFMC Grand Rounds programs are designed to address common medical issues that subspecialty medicine is consulted on to help streamline evaluations and/or to improve understanding of certain disease processes and to help develop appropriate language that reflects more accurately patients' conditions. Additionally, Grand Rounds is utilized to educate our community of medical professionals on wide-ranging public health topics to increase awareness and ability to recognize and start intervention.

Global Objectives:
This Grand Rounds series is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to enhance patient access to specialty care. Through education on specific disease entities, public health issues, communication techniques with patients and professional colleagues, and methods to improve patient outcomes, participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of how to address barriers to specialty care and optimize the delivery of healthcare services.
