Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1| Identify how social historical forces shaped the lives of marginalized Puerto Ricans in Springfield.
2| Recognize how key institutions and strategies, such as community health, substance abuse treatment, and prisoner reentry services facilitate health and stability in personal lives.
3| Identify how the treatment of substance abuse disorders as a public health rather than a criminal justice issue affected the lives of poor Puerto Ricans.
