Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

1| Demonstrate the setup, the use of proper tubing and operation Belmont Rapid Infuser.

2| Demonstrate the proper application of the Twice as Tough wrist and ankle restraints, and documentation of a restrained patient.

3| Demonstrate how to prepare the syringe & tubing, and the programing of the Alaris Syringe Pump.

4| Demonstrate the proper use and application of the LUCAS device.

5| Verbalize the infection control practices for a patient with C. Diff. or suspected C. Diff. infection

6| Demonstrate the lead placement and use of the Zoll for defibrillating, cardioversion, and pacing.

7| Demonstrate the proper use of each oxygen delivery system.

8| Discuss and describe the signs and symptoms a stroke patient my exhibit. 

9| Discuss the ways that fall risk patients are identified in the department.

10| Discuss how to use the sepsis bundle sheet.

11| Demonstrate the use of the Broselow Tape and medication dosing for pediatric patients.

12| Discuss the setup for a chest tube and the setup of the Shore Drive drainage system.

13| Discuss Heparin orders and protocols for Heparin titrating.

14| Demonstrate the proper procedure for accessing and de-accessing a Porta-cath.

15| Verbalize the process and procedure for SANE & Tele-SANE.

16| Verbalize what type of cases are reportable and the forms/procedure for these cases.
