Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1. describe the roles of the members of the health care team in their respective responsibilities for quality care.
2. distinguish between the various code team roles.
3. identify EKG patterns associated with common dysrhythmias.
4.
reproduce effective team communication strategies to employ when evaluating a decompensating patient.
5. demonstrate successful code team practice by identifying cardiac arrest, initiating BLS, utilizing team members and practicing closed loop communication to successfully code a pediatric patient.
