Series Overview
The Committee on Infection (COI) meets monthly to review, discuss, and develop strategies related to infection prevention, surveillance, and control across Baystate Health. The educational focus of these sessions is to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration, promote evidence-based infection prevention practices, and ensure alignment with local, state, and federal guidelines. Through presentation and discussion of case studies, policy updates, and outcome data, participants gain a deeper understanding of emerging infectious threats, regulatory changes, and hospital-acquired infection trends. The goal is to strengthen the healthcare team’s ability to implement effective prevention strategies, respond to outbreaks, and improve patient safety across the health system.
