Objectives

1. Identify limitations in trough based monitoring as it pertains to patient safety and microbiologic efficacy
2. Describe supporting eveidence for pharmacokinetic versus geometric monitoring
3. Identify validated and developing methods to determine pharmacodynamic goal attainment
