Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1. Explain the risk and typical treatment strategy for thrombotic events in patients antiphospholipid syndrome (APS)

2. Identify challenges in monitoring activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) in patients with APS.

 

    3. Discuss strategies for monitoring heparin antifactor Xa levels in patients receiving unfractionated heparin and its correlation to aPTT levels.
