Objectives

After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
1. Describe immunogneic determinants in beta-lactam allergy and the concept of cross reactivity between them.
2. Discuss the risks associated with the use of the second line antibiotics in patients with reported beta-lactam allergy
3. Decide on a safe beta-lactam antibiotic based on patient's allergy profile, given a patient case.
